Standard 2H
2H: Demonstrates knowledge and understanding
of concepts related to technology and student
learning.
To meet this standard I showed my understanding of the three types of knowledge, content, pedagogical, and technology, and how they relate to teaching, technology, and student interest (see D2L response ‘TPACK’). I also provided and explained several examples of how students using technology in the classroom, my current understanding of technology, two technological inventions that I think have changed society today, and how technology has influenced what and how students learn (see Dropbox ‘What’s the Difference’).
Through completing these tasks I was able to understand how technology can be used in the classroom and how doing so greatly benefits students.

Standard 3R
3R: Identify and apply technology resources to
enable and empower learners with diverse
backgrounds, characteristics, and abilities.
Podcasts and vodcasts are great tools to use inside and outside the classroom. This enables students to watch a lecture as many times as they want and is supportive for students who learn at different paces (see D2L response ‘Podcasts and Vodcasts’). Creating a list of annotated websites on a webpage gives students many resources and allows students with different backgrounds to choose resources that apply their learning style (see Annotated Websites).
These assignments have helped to me see more possibilities when it comes to teaching. There are more options for resources than just the textbooks I grew up and I hope to show my students how many options and different mediums there are for learning. Having different ways of presenting information allows students with different learning styles to succeed.

Standard 4J
4J: Develop a variety of clear, accurate
presentations and representations of concepts,
using alternative explanations to assist students’
understanding and present varied perspectives to
encourage critical thinking.
To meet this standard I reflected about my understanding of learning and researched different theories about how students learn (see D2L response ‘Learning’ and Dropbox ‘Theorist Graphic’). Looking deeper into two learning theories, I analyzed how teachers who hold these views would assess their students (see D2L response ‘Perspectives’). I also provided and explained several examples of how students using technology in the classroom, my current understanding of technology, two technological inventions that I think have changed society today, and how technology has influenced what and how students learn (see Dropbox ‘What’s the Difference’).
From these I have been able to take a different approach to teaching and assessments. I have also been exposed to several types of technology in the classroom that would help to engage students in learning, critical skills and thinking and education.

Standard 4K
4K: Use educational technology to broaden
student knowledge about technology, to deliver
instruction to students at different levels and
paces, and to stimulate advances levels of
learning.
To meet this standard I created a website containing a list of educational annotated website and blogs, my D2L discussions, dropbox assignments and every standard for this class and how the assignment I have completed meets the standard (see my Weebly page). I also selected a teaching strategy and presented how I would assess student learning using technology (see Dropbox ‘Strategies’).
I have learned so much from these assessments that I would love to bring to my classroom. Having students show their knowledge about technology and what they learned from their class is easily done using a blog or by creating a website. I would allow students to choose how they want to showcase their knowledge, as long as it stays in line with the standards.

Standard 4L
4L: Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans
that include methods and strategies to maximize
learning that incorporate a wide variety of
materials and technological resources.
To meet this standard I created a website containing a list of educational annotated website and blogs, my D2L discussions, dropbox assignments and every standard for this class and how the assignment I have completed meets the standard (see my Weebly page). I have presented my progress to my fellow classmates and took their evaluation into consideration when revising my website. I also provided and explained several examples of how students using technology in the classroom, in various subjects, to support and further their learning (see Dropbox ‘What’s the Difference’).
Using technology in the classroom exposes students to many different types of instruction and helps facilitate learning for students with different learning styles.

Standard 7H
7H: Plan for the management of technology
resources within the context of learning activities
and develop strategies to manage student
learning in a technology- integrated environment.
I created a website containing a list of educational annotated blogs, my D2L discussions and dropbox assignments (see my Weebly page). Throughout the course I have completed D2L posts, dropbox activities, created a website, and have completed various reading. From these I have described concepts, knowledge, and skills that apply in a technology in a classroom setting (see D2L responses, Dropbox activities, and Weebly.com)
As a teacher I will try incorporate technology as much as possible in my classroom. 21st century learning love technology and are connected to it all the time. By bringing technology into the curriculum you are connecting to everyday world outside the classroom.

Standard 8E
8E: Select, construct, and use assessment
strategies, instruments, and technologies
appropriate to the learning outcomes being
evaluated and to other diagnostic purposes;
To meet this standard I created a website containing a list of educational annotated website and blogs, my D2L discussions, dropbox assignments and every standard for this class and how the assignment I have completed meets the standard (see my Weebly page). I presented my website to my classmates in a progress presentation and took their peer-assessment of my work into consideration when finishing my website. In week 5 I selected a teaching strategy and presented how I would assess student learning using technology (see Dropbox ‘Strategies’).
Using technology allows students unique ways to show what they have learned and gives them the freedom to choose ways to present it and structure it.

Standard 8N
8N: Use technology resources to collect and
analyze data, interpret results, and communicate
findings to improve instructional practice and
maximize student learning.
I helped to complete a group project that demonstrated how graphics can be used to further student learning (see Team Learning Project). During several discussion I have identified the benefits and drawbacks of using direct instruction and student inquiry and how these technologies impact teaching practices (see D2L responses ‘TPACK,’ ’Technology and Student Engagement,’ ’Databases,’ and ’Social Media.)
As a teacher I would use technology assess student learning and collect data about student learning. There are programs out there that allow students to take tests on their smart phone and see their results right away. Teachers are sent this information instantly and get stats on what questions were hard for students. They can then change their instruction to fit the needs of students.

Standard 9M
9M: Understand the role of continuous
development in technology knowledge and skills
representative of technology applications for
education.
To meet this standard I created a website containing a list of educational annotated website and blogs, my D2L discussions, dropbox assignments and every standard for this class and how the assignment I have completed meets the standard (see my Weebly page). I have also posted in several discussions that relate to students increasing use of technology and how technology impacts our daily lives and will continue to do so (see D2L responses ‘Databases,’ ‘Podcasts and Vodcasts,’ ‘Social Media,’ and ‘Social, Ethical and Legal Prevention Strategies’).
After I learned how to navigate Weebly, I loved being able to create my own website. I got my own pictures, how I wanted to structure my assignments, and what pages I wanted to add. I would diffidently teach my students how to use the web wisely and to produce creative works that double as a source of information/assessment. Teaching students how to be creative with technology is something that they can take with them throughout their life.

Standard 10M
10M: Understand the social, ethical, legal and
human issues surrounding the use of information
and technology in Pre-Kindergarten through
grade 12 schools and apply that understanding in
practice.
I showed how blogs and websites can guide student learning by creating an annotated list of educational websites and blogs that students can use to further and support their learning (see Annotated Websites and my Blog). I have also identified ways that students can explore content using technology and also why it is important for students to know how to be ethical and responsible online citizens (see D2L responses ‘Databases’ and ‘Social, Ethical and Legal Prevention Strategies’).
I will teach my students how to be responsible online and have them learn that there can be legal ramifications if they do not behave responsibly and ethically online. There are so many websites that are not creditable, so it is important that students be able to distinguish between creditable and not creditable. I would also teach them how to properly give credit to information they have used.
